Crixet AI is an advanced AI assistant embedded within the Crixet editor, specifically tailored to assist users in crafting complex LaTeX code. Whether you're composing mathematical equations, formatting scientific documents, or structuring intricate layouts, Crixet AI provides real-time support by generating, refining, or troubleshooting LaTeX syntax. This tool is ideal for students, researchers, and professionals who need to produce precise, publication-quality documents efficiently. Initiating

Within the Crixet editor, users can enhance their workflow by utilizing a convenient shortcut to access the integrated AI assistant. On any line within the document, simply press ⌘ + K (or Ctrl + K on Windows) to trigger the AI prompt window. This feature is designed to streamline the process of writing and editing, particularly for technical or specialized content.

Writing Prompts

Simply enter in plain, everyday language what you’d like the AI to generate, and it will translate your request into the appropriate LaTeX code. For instance, in this example, we will generate a line chart to display temperature data over time. To do this, we’ve included the temperature data directly within the prompt—such as daily averages or specific values—and Crixet AI will process this input to produce a polished, professional-looking chart in LaTeX. This intuitive feature eliminates the need to manually write complex plotting commands, empowering users to focus on their ideas rather than the intricacies of LaTeX syntax.

Package Management

At present, Crixet AI does not automatically include the necessary LaTeX packages in your document to support the generated code. To ensure the desired output—such as rendering a line chart with temperature data—you’ll need to manually add the relevant packages (e.g., pgfplots for graphs or amsmath for advanced math formatting) to your document’s preamble. While this step requires a bit of extra effort, it’s a temporary limitation. We’re actively working on enhancing this feature, and it’s high on our development roadmap. In the near future, Crixet AI will automatically detect and apply the required packages for you, streamlining the process even further and making your experience fully seamless.

Once Crixet AI generates the LaTeX code from your prompt, rendering begins and may take a few seconds depending on complexity. Compile your document in the Crixet editor to view the output—like a temperature data line chart—in your PDF. You can then tweak it like any other part of your document, adjusting labels or colors as needed. This integration keeps AI-generated content fully editable, putting you in control.
